YOUR TASKS

  • Responsible for all commercial aspects of product portfolio: automotive power cable harnesses and automotive data cables
  • Direct interface with customer purchasing organization
  • Identify customer needs and act as the customer voice at internal meetings
  • Key stakeholder during the RFQ process in order to position different internal cross-functional teams to customer and internal requirements
  • Manage all aspects of customer quotations and price break downs
  • Provide upper management with direction and market trends of products and customers in order for company to gain competitive edge
  • Gain access to all relevant product portfolio key information
  • Together with upper management develop, implement and follow business and sales strategies to enable growth
  • Work closely with internal upper management, Engineering, Purchasing and Program Management organizations locally and globally
  • Achieve revenue and profit to business plan and budget
  • Manage and recover costs for prototype parts, ED&D, engineering change notices piece price and tooling

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree ideally with a combination of Commercial and Technical experience in the automotive industry, specifically in the harness and cable industry
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Automotive Tier I or Tier II environment
  • Willingness to travel – 10%
  • Professional, customer and detail focused team player with strong organizational & communication skills

Component Design Engineer - Automotive Harness (m/f/x)

YOUR TASKS

  • Lead and development of metal and plastics provisional wire harness components such as battery terminals, plastic troughs, overmolds, etc
  • Interface with customer and internal global cross functional teams
  • Lead component development projects with internal and external partners
  • Design and analyze layouts, components, detailed drawings with support of CAD Designer
  • Apply drawing tolerances and perform accurate tolerance stack up
  • Lead customer interface on content and status of design, design changes and requirements together with Design Engineer and Program Manager
  • Define geometrical and material requirements for components
  • Coordinate all component design related activities with global cross functional teams to ensure technical aspects of the project is executed according to Program Manager timeline
  • Interface with company management and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Evaluate customer specifications and review for technical compliance
  • Provide customer responses for cost studies
  • Create and document RFQ drawings, generate technical presentations
  • Generate cost calculations based on RFQ package and/or drawings and collaborate with purchasing and sales. Utilize SAP program as needed.
  • Collaborate with various department team members globally to ensure compliance to core company processes and methods
  • Create technical design proposals based on theoretical analysis, studies and/or testing
  • Collaborate with DVP&R team to validate product according to customer requirements
  • Maintain program specific product DFMEA in collaboration from appropriate teams globally
  • Coordinate and lead production of prototype samples globally
  • Coordinate any project related testing specific to assigned program
  • Travel to customer and GG facilities as needed

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and/or Engineering Technology degree in combination with relevant experience
  • 3+ years of prior proven proficiency in Tier I automotive environment product development
  • Customer and detail focused team player with strong time-management, organization & communication skills
  • Lead and provide direction related to technical aspects of the project

Design Engineer - Automotive Cables (m/f/x)

YOUR TASKS

  • Lead assigned project by serving as technical and program deliverable responsible for product design and development from prototype to production
  • Coordinate all engineering related activities with global cross functional teams to ensure technical aspects of the project is executed according to PM timeline
  • Regular interface directly with customer engineering contacts
  • Interface with company management and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Routing, packaging and design of automotive power cables for US OEM’s in collaboration with CAD Designers and GG design rules
  • Evaluate customer specifications and review for technical compliance
  • Create and document RFQ drawings, generate technical presentations
  • Generate cost calculations based on RFQ package and/or drawings and collaborate with purchasing and sales. Utilize SAP program as needed.
  • Release 2D product drawings in customer system in accordance with customer requirements as well as internal design for manufacturing guidelines
  • Manage engineering change notices from initial source through EOP
  • Collaborate with various department team members globally to ensure compliance to core company processes and methods
  • Create technical design proposals based on theoretical analysis, studies and/or testing
  • Collaborate with customer to come up with suitable validation plan for the project with support of internal validation team
  • Generate DVP&R. Coordinate and follow DV and PV testing. Analyze results. Implement corrective actions for failures.
  • Lead and negotiate final validation test plan with customer
  • Maintain program specific product DFMEA in collaboration from appropriate teams globally
  • Coordinate and lead production of prototype samples from Europe & Latin America
  • Coordinate any project related testing specific to assigned program
  • Support vehicle builds and launches at customer prototype, pilot or production assembly plants as well as GG plants as required. Document trials and maintain customer sign-off.
  • Come up with solutions to problems where necessary.
  • Travel to customer and GG facilities as needed

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and/or Engineering Technology degree in combination with relevant experience
  • Self-starter attitude, with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and close actions items to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Lead and provide direction related to technical aspects of the project

  • Manage all aspects of GG quoting process from RFQ to award, product launch and into production by interacting with cross-functional groups internally

YOUR PROFILE

  • Associates Degree and/or equivalent professional experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in Automotive Tier I or Tier II environment
  • Patience, customer focus and ability to work in cross-functional & international teams
  • Reliable and motivated work style to complete tasks and resolve issues with minimal direction from management
  • Good communication and time management skills are required

  • Create, lead and maintain program timeline according to customer and GG milestones
  • Ensure all APQP deliverables are submitted on time
  • Manage internal project structure plan (PSP) documentation and reporting
  • Coordinate and lead regular internal meetings with cross functional teams globally
  • Maintain program specific open issues list and ensure timely closure of all issues
  • Communicate project deliverables to the project team
  • Lead program management activities internally and in front of customer
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of engineering change notices
  • Track profit and loss responsibility of costs during product development

  • Escalate issues as needed to ensure customer and GG milestones are fulfilled

  • Lead procurement of parts with purchasing for prototype and pre-production
  • Evaluate customer information/requirements (RFP, RFQ, RFI, etc.) and own program response

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or similar and relevant experience
  • 3+ years of prior proven proficiency in Tier I automotive environment program management / product development
  • Strong leadership, communication and organization skills with attention to detail
  • Lead and provide direction related to program management aspects of the project
  • Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Power-Point, and Outlook
